2 army killed in Bandarban

Sun News Desk : Two soldiers have been killed and two others injured when the separatist group Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) denoted an improvised explosive device and opened fire on them in Bandarban.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Altaf Ahmed and Md Touhid while the injured were Major Monwar and Captain Ishtiak Ahmed Shawkat.

After receiving an information about hideout of armed terrorists, a patrol team of army led by Major Monwar from Susingpara Army camp conducted a drive at Jarulchharipara, the press release said.

When they reached near a water fountain at Jarulchhari around 1:55 pm, the armed KNA members opened fire on the team and hurled improvised explosive device (IED) targeting the army personnel, leaving four of them injured.

The injured army officers are receiving treatment at the hospital.
