17 Injured in Train Attack in Japan

International Desk: A knife attack has taken place on a train in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. At least 17 people were injured. Police have arrested one person on suspicion of involvement in the attack.

The incident took place on Sunday (October 31) night. The condition of a 70-year-old man among the 17 injured is critical.

A 24-year-old man named Kyota Hattori has been arrested, the Japan Times reported. The arrested youth told police he 'wanted to kill people'.

A passenger on the train said he saw a blood-stained knife in the attacker's hand and thought it might be a Halloween joke.

The attacker also set fire in a train carriage in Tokyo Keiyo line. At this time the sound of the explosion was heard in the carriage. He then attacked the passengers with a knife. The incident spread panic among the train passengers. Many tried to escape by breaking the train windows.
