'Bangladesh is a role model in the world in information technology'

Staff Correspondent: State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has said that Bangladesh is a role model for the world in the use of information technology. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a webinar titled 'Awareness of Girls in Digital Security' organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technology on Wednesday (November 25).

He said Bangladesh has shown enviable success in the use of information technology in various fields including communication, education, medicine and agriculture. Digital Bangladesh, one of the visionaries of the government under the leadership of People's Leader Sheikh Hasina, has been successfully implemented. As a result, our activities did not stop during the Coronation. At a time when the world is struggling to cope with the effects of corona, we continue to use information technology.

He added that the use of information technology around the world will increase in the future. So from now on we have to focus on building skilled manpower in this regard. The labs of every educational institution need to be further enriched so that students can acquire knowledge hand-in-hand.

The state minister said, besides the success of information technology, there are also some challenges. Various cyber crimes are being organized through technology. Most of the victims of these cyber crimes are teenagers. Therefore, students as well as teachers and parents need to increase awareness in this regard.

Meherpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Munsur Alam Khan addressed the function as a special guest under the chairmanship of Abu Saeed Chowdhury, Controller of Electronic Signature Certificate Issuing Authority. Hasina Begum, Deputy Controller of Cyber ​​Crime and Security, presented the keynote address at the event.

The state minister then inaugurated the agricultural incentive program for the fiscal year 2020-21 organized by the Meherpur District Administration and Department of Agricultural Extension. Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture Extension Swapan Kumar Khan delivered the welcome address at the function presided over by Dr. Mohammad Munsur Alam Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Meherpur.
